Evil mom tortured kids to pretend they were sick —almost killing one by draining his blood: ‘Nothing short of horrifying’
By
A “heinous” Minnesota mom tortured her three kids to make them look seriously sick and get money for their care — almost killing her 9-year-old son by draining his blood to pretend he was dying of a mystery illness.
Jordan Nicole Borders, 34, put her kids through five years of abuse that was “nothing short of horrifying,” Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said as the mom was sentenced to 39 years in prison. “Borders’ crimes are some of the most heinous and agonizing I have seen.”
Doctors became suspicious in 2022 when Borders’ young son had “dangerously low levels of hemoglobin” in his blood with no obvious explanation — and they realized her other kids had mysterious illnesses, too, for which the mom was collecting tens of thousands to help pay for treatment.

Her 8-year-old daughter wore an unprescribed hearing aid, causing a boil on the back of her ear, while her 11-year-old son wore a cast for more than two years while supposedly suffering from brittle bone disease.
When interviewed, the kids told cops that their mom had been withdrawing blood with a syringe from the 9-year-old boy, who said it left him “sick-sleepy.”
The mom chatted with people online about needing help with end-of-life care for the boy.
The children told investigators that their mom, from Crosslake, would make them vomit at doctors’ appointments to appear sick.
She would also beat them with charging cords, belts and spoons and threaten to withhold food and even kill them. If they disobeyed, she made them stand outside, naked.

Throughout, Borders received Medicaid assistance as well as gifts and money from non-profit foundations for her children’s fake illnesses.
“The medical issues in the children were created by her,” prosecutor Dominika Kins said at the sentencing hearing Thursday, according to the Brainerd Dispatch.
“She abused her position of authority,” said Kins. “And she stripped [her children] of an actual childhood.”

Borders was earlier convicted of attempted murder as well as child torture and theft by representation.

“The facts we proved in court are nothing short of horrifying,” said Ellison, the state attorney general.
“It strains the imagination and breaks my heart into pieces to think about the torture and anguish — physical, mental, and emotional — that Borders inflicted on her own children. I ask every Minnesotan to join me in praying for these children’s healing.”49

The 9-year-old boy was placed in protective custody in May of 2022, according to the Dispatch.
The other two children were removed from the home in July. Borders’ parental rights to the three children have been terminated.
Borders’ own mom told the court in an impact statement that she’d been kept from seeing her grandkids, and felt relieved that she could finally see them.
The six words in a top secret email that ended years of sick abuse of kids as young as five – whose evil parents whipped, starved and beat them inside a suburban Sydney home
- ‘House of Horrors’ parents plead guilty to abuse
- Children starved, whipped in strict Muslim family
- Secret email plot rescued them from torturous lives

It took a brave teenager and stolen time on a laptop to bring an end to the years-long reign of terror and abuse twisted parents inflicted on their children inside the family home.
The end finally began with an email to police that asked simply: ‘Can I get a welfare check…?’
A few days later, the teen worked up the courage from behind her anonymous email account to finally tell a cop: ‘I have been abused all my life and I have had enough…’
It triggered a raid that led to police uncovering the house of horror lurking in plain sight in Sydney‘s suburbia.
Detectives swooped on the home and found the brood of children had been beaten, starved and whipped by their parents for years.
Their scars, wounds and bruises were hidden from the eyes of neighbours by their parents’ ban on their children from wearing shorts or any other clothing that revealed skin from the collarbone to the ankle.
The kids were banned from going to school, socialising with friends, attending public places or shops, or playing sport. The girls were not even allowed to cut their hair short.
The large family had lived at a series of rental addresses across Sydney, often in the squalor of open sewage and vermin infestation.

One plaintive email to police read, ‘Hi, hope ur well. I have been abused my whole life and I have had enough of it. But I don’t want the people that have done it to me to go to jail. Even though what they have done to me I will never be the same’

The multiple children, aged between five months and 19 years, had been tied up inside their ‘disgusting and revolting’ homes and subjected to unthinkable horror.
Their father’s iron fist saw him lash out with his favourite weapon – a doubled over electrical cord – whenever his children fell short on his slave-like roster of chores.
All names and identifying factors of the case, including the exact size of the family, are suppressed under NSW law.
But father S, a 57-year-old North African-born repairman, and his Islamic convert wife, C, 46, ran a ‘controlling and disciplined household environment for their children who followed strict Muslim religious beliefs’, according to police.
One daughter, H, told Daily Mail Australia they were basically fed scraps of food and dressed in rags.
‘Hand-me-downs, old things from people we knew or reject stuff from the market,’ she said.
‘The food was the stuff they threw out or would have been fed to animals because it was too old to eat, that my father got for us.’
How their father beat them till they bled and their unemployed Centrelink recipient mother complied with the assaults can now be revealed for the first time after both parents pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
So too can the details of the secret email campaign by two of the sisters conducted clandestinely with police and at risk of violent retaliation against the brave pair.
More than once the girls, then aged 17 and 19, backed off from telling police the truth, and then risked the danger of discovery by covertly recording their little brothers and sister’s bashings.
The father S will be sentenced on Tuesday for 26 offences, including assaulting his children as young as aged five, and a daughter, 10, on her back, legs and arms for more than 15 minutes.
The girl was unable to sit down afterwards and the whip marks striped and shaped like the electrical cord were visible for weeks.
S also bit his primary-school aged daughter, called her ‘fat’, pushed and whipped her, stepped on her face, and punched his four-year-old son in the mouth till he bled for not eating vegetables.
According to NSW Police Facts obtained by Daily Mail Australia, ‘throughout the victims’ lives, they were each the subject of physical abuse and mistreatment at the hands of S and C.
‘These acts were frequent and often occurred in view of the other victims.’

The house of horrors where the historic abuse against multiple children aged from their late teens down to primary school age occurred
In between their roster of chores – cooking meals, cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, wiping down surfaces, washing clothes, feeding the animals and feeding, bathing and caring for their younger siblings – the older girls had been home schooled.
But not to NSW Department of Education standards, and as H told Daily Mail Australia, it had been left up to them without any access to TV or the internet.
‘Basically… you taught yourself from the books,’ she said.
One house was deemed uninhabitable when ‘the bathroom was basically in the kitchen and there was raw sewage flowing through it’.
The family moved to another house a 10-minute drive away – but the whippings and beatings continued.
In early 2022, the family’s second oldest child, H, who was about to turn 18, created a secret Instagram account and an email address accessing her parents’ laptop while they were asleep.

One of the daughters opened a secret Instagram account and email address in early 2022, the sisters telling police they’d ‘had enough’
Her sisters, aged 19 and 16, were aware of the account. H posted pictures of cats, rabbits and goats on Instagram.
By March 2022, the children’s mother C was stridently telling them the house had to be ‘spotless’ for their father S.
C ranted about how her kids were the biggest regret of her life, how much she hated them and that she wished all her children were dead.
Within days, H contacted NSW Police via a secret email account using a pseudonym.
She wrote: ‘Hi can I get a welfare check at [family’s Sydney address]. I want to remain anonymous please.’
In the exchanges which followed, mostly with a Constable ‘DH’ (name witheld), police did not initially understand how restricted H and her siblings were in reporting the abuse.
On March 11, 2022 H’s 19-year-old sister, A, wrote to NSW police: ‘I am an adult child who lives with their parents and siblings. My parents are sometimes abusive.’
An email 10 days later said, ‘Hi, I was wondering if I can speak to you about some options I have to deal with physical and emotional abuse. Thanks.’
On March 22, Const. DH wrote to to H: ‘Good Morning. What can I do to assist you? How old are you as well?’
H to Const DH: ‘Hi, hope ur well. I have been abused my whole life and I have had enough of it. But I don’t want the people that have done it to me to go to jail. Even though what they have done to me I will never be the same. I’m unable to tell u my name or age.’
March 24, 2022, Const DH to H: ‘Hi, I understand the situation … however I require information … so I can properly investigate. If you could advise me of a time you might attend [nearby] Police Station please.’
H’s response: ‘Please just forget I said anything. I thought that I had deleted the message. Thanks anyway.’
At about 8pm on March 29, H’s 16-year-old sister heard her father screaming at someone and picked up a tablet computer to start recording audio of the outburst.
She saw S getting angry at 13-year-old K for not cleaning something. K was crying. S said: ‘See why you are a pig? Tell me what you are!’
K responded, ‘A pig’. S replied: ‘You had no intention of ever cleaning it up, next time I’ll kill you, do you understand?’
On April 4, 2022, H wrote to Const DH: ‘Hey, Hope you are well. I’ve got a question for you. How much evidence do u have to have to prove child abuse and domestic abuse do u have to have for proof?’

The now abandoned property had sewage running through the bathroom/kitchen and the kids were allegedly fed scraps and dressed in donated rags
April 13, H to Const DH: ‘Just wondering if voice recordings, videos and pics is enough to prove child abuse/domestic abuse?’
Police did attend the family home for welfare checks from early March, but the abuse continued.
In late April, 2022 S confronted H at dinner time and took her into the bedroom.
‘I’m not going to kill you because I don’t want your shit on me,’ he said.
‘But I hate you and I can’t stand you. Get your stuff and leave … Do you want me to beat you, or you leave?’
H responded: ‘I don’t care what you do to me’.
On June 17, 2022, two senior constables attended the family home.
While two of the older girls denied anything was wrong, or that they had sent emails recording abuse to police, the 16-year-old sister finally relented.
She told one of the officers, ‘My parents abuse all of us, they hurt us and don’t let us do anything… for our whole life.
‘Not so much lately for us older children but I can’t take it any longer. Can you help us?’
S and C were arrested. Originally charged with a combined total of more than 60 offences, they prepared to face trial.
However, C pleaded guilty to a reduced list of multiple charges of domestic violence related common assault charges earlier this year.
The father will be sentenced in the Downing Centre Local Court on December 17
