The Tigard Police Department shares a sample of calls for service each week to educate community members about the types of calls officers respond to each day, providing perspective on the work they do for our city.
While only 2-4 calls are listed in this record per day, Tigard Police officers respond to an average of more than 100 calls every day, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated calls which may include extra patrols, traffic stops, neighborhood contacts or checking out suspicious circumstances.
Note: Some of these incidents involve individuals exhibiting signs of mental health crises and/or drug and alcohol impairment based on the information provided to officers and their observations, however officers do not diagnose individuals.
November 30 – December 6, 2025
Tigard Police responded to at least 902 calls this week, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated contacts.
Officers made 31 arrests, with several resulting in multiple charges.
Saturday, December 6:
- A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a driver on a warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCS) – Cocaine.
- At 7:05 PM, a bartender called police to report a customer they believed to be too drunk to drive had just gotten behind the wheel. Our Evening Traffic Safety Officer quickly located the driver, who was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) after their blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.14%.
- Later in the afternoon, a woman experiencing a mental health crisis locked herself in the bathroom of a coffee shop in the 16200 block of SW Pacific Highway.
- At 12:39 PM, a caller reported hearing someone screaming in the trees at Summerlake Park.Police responded and spoke with a man who was experiencing a mental health crisis. Officers were able to calm the man down. As a reminder, all Tigard officers receive advanced crisis and de-escalation training as a part of the Public Safety Levy, which was renewed by Tigard voters in 2024.
Friday, December 5:
- In the evening, a child was reported missing during the Tigard Tree Lighting ceremony. Thankfully, the child was located quickly and reunited with their family.
- Around 3:30 PM, a car was stolen from the parking lot of a restaurant in the 14400 block of SW Pacific Highway.
- A car was stolen from a dealership in the 10100 block of SW Washington Square Road.
- At 9:00 AM a man was trespassed from a home in the 7000 block of SW Mapleleaf Street.
Thursday, December 4:
- A treatment center in the 10700 block of SW Greenberg Road called to have someone removed from the property.
- Officers responded to several traffic crashes with injuries across the City throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
- A man with multiple warrants was arrested after spitting on an employee at a restaurant in the 12000 block of SW Main Street.
Wednesday, December 3:
- While responding to another call, officers were flagged down by a community member reporting a burglary in progress as a home in the 7400 block of SW Cherry Drive. Unfortunately, police were not able to locate the suspect.
- A man who was trespassed and arrested the day prior for stealing from a business in the 9000 block of SW Washington Square Road returned to the same store to steal again. He was arrested again.
Tuesday, December 2:
- Multiple thefts from businesses across the City of Tigard.
- Two men were called in for boxing each other on the side of SW Scholls Ferry Road.
- At 11:45 AM police were dispatched to a CPR call on an 86-year-old. Sadly, the man died.
Monday, December 1:
- Officers responded to several people experiencing mental health crises throughout the day.
- A shoplifter was arrested at a store in the 7800 block of SW Dartmouth Street.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance with a knife at a motel in the 11400 block of SW Pacific Highway.
- A graveyard patrol officer came across a person passed out behind the wheel near SW McDonald Street and SW 89th Avenue. The woman was arrested on three charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCS) -Fentanyl (felony), PCS-Meth (misdemeanor) and Driving While Suspended (misdemeanor).
Sunday, November 30:
- More than one person called in to report a suspicious person on the walking trail on SW Tigard Street. When officers arrived, they found the man taking a nap.
- Many thefts were called in by retail stores across the city, including multiple thefts in custody at a department store in the 9300 block of SW Washington Square Road.
November 23 – 29, 2025
Tigard Police responded to at least 787 calls this week, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated contacts.
Officers made 38 arrests, with several resulting in multiple charges.
Saturday, November 29:
- Officers responded to a welfare check at a home in the 9000 block of SW Omara Street where it was reported a woman was attempting to end her own life. It appeared this was not actually the case, and her boyfriend arrived and let police know he would call back if anything changed.
- A woman experiencing a mental health crisis attempted to end her own life by strangling herself. Officers placed her on a peace officer hold and she was taken to the hospital for treatment.
- A teenager experiencing a mental health crisis continued to call 9-1-1 for non-emergencies.
- Suspicious behavior was called in at a storage unit on SW Burnham Street, however it turned out to be construction workers and no apparent crime occurred.
Friday, November 28:
- Throughout the day, officers made 15 shoplifting-related arrests across the City.
- Multiple welfare checks were called in for a man who told family members he was actively attempting to end his life. However, each time officers contacted the man, there were no apparent injuries or evidence he was trying to take his life. He refused to speak with police.
- A store in the 9000 block of SW Hall Boulevard called to report a woman loading a shopping cart with items and removing security sensors. She was arrested on multiple theft warrants.
Thursday, November 27:
- Our Evening Traffic Safety Officer located a hit and run driver who had driven off the road and into some bushes on SW Mountain View Lane. They were arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) after their blood alcohol content (BAC) came back at 0.16% – twice the legal limit.
- A 3-month-old baby was taken to the hospital with serious and suspicious injuries while at grandma’s house.
- At 8:00 AM police responded to a hotel in the 9000 block of SW Washington Square Road where a child reported to a hotel worker that she was sexually assaulted by a family member overnight. Detectives responded to investigate. The suspected was arrested and lodged at the Washington County Jail.
Wednesday, November 26:
- Around 8:00 PM, police responded to a parking lot in the 10200 block of SW Washington Square Road where a backpack had been stolen from a car while the owner was at dinner.
- A teenager was allegedly shoplifting from a store in the 9000 block of SW Hall Boulevard.
- At 7:00 AM officers were called to a home in the 10900 block of SW 82nd Avenue where a man reportedly armed himself with a gun and wouldn’t let a woman leave the house. Thankfully, officers were able to safely arrest the man. He was arrested on his felony warrants as well as being charged with four more offenses: Assault IV – Domestic Violence with Prior Convictions (felony), Unauthorized Use of Vehicle, Criminal Mischief III and Theft II – from vehicle.
Tuesday, November 25:
- Officers responded to a harassment call at a home in the 10600 block of SW Summer Lake Drive.
- A community member came to the police department to report they purchased a “bad batch” of cocaine.
Monday, November 24:
- Police recovered a stolen vehicle at the same shopping center as earlier in the shift.
- A separate vehicle was reported stolen from a shopping center at the corner of SW Pacific Highway and SW Hall Boulevard.
- Concerned community members called in what they thought to be a drunk driver, however, officers determined the 86-year-old driver was not intoxicated.
Sunday, November 23:
- At 10:15 PM officers responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of SW Durham Road and SW 72nd Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) after their blood alcohol content (BAC) came back at 0.20% – more than twice the legal limit. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt in the crash.
- A teenager stole from a store in the 9000 block of SW Hall Boulevard.
- Shoplifting reported at a store in the 7800 block of SW Dartmouth Street.
- A domestic disturbance was reported at an apartment in the 6800 block of SW Clinton Street, where officers ended up arresting a man who had a felony warrant.
November 16 – 22, 2025
Tigard Police responded to at least 870 calls this week, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated contacts.
Officers made 30 arrests, with several resulting in multiple charges.
Saturday, November 22:
- Police responded to several calls regarding different issues at a shopping complex on SW Washington Square Road, including calls about shoplifting and calls regarding teenagers harassing people.
- Officers responded to several calls throughout the day related to moving people along who were no longer welcome at businesses, calls about warming fires and people stashing personal items behind businesses.
Friday, November 21:
- Community members called in asking questions about ICE activity in Tigard. As a reminder, Tigard Police officers do not coordinate with ICE, ask questions about immigration status or enforce immigration laws. Learn more HERE.
- Another traffic issue was reported at SW Greenburg Road and SW Tiedeman Avenue after a semi-truck blocked both lanes of the road while attempting to navigate the turn.
- A problem with the railroad arms at SW Durham Road caused major traffic issues for drivers in the morning.
Thursday, November 20:
- In the afternoon, officers responded to a welfare check at an apartment in the 16000 block of SW 108th Avenue. Management assisted officers by opening the door to the apartment, where the subject of the welfare check was just fine but did not want to talk to officers or open the door.
- Officers were able to quickly locate a man who stole items from a shed in the 12800 block of SW Grant Avenue. The items were returned to the homeowner.
Wednesday, November 19:
- Gas siphoning was reported at a business in the 11500 block of SW Pacific Highway.
- A student at the high school intentionally overdosed on their medication in attempt to end their life. They were placed on a Peace Officer Hold by a School Resource Officer and taken to the hospital for care.
- At 1:30 AM officers were called to a bar in the 15600 block of SW Upper Boones Ferry Road where a man had passed out naked in a restroom after having too much to drink. The man’s mother came to pick him up.
Tuesday, November 18:
- Both Tigard Police and Beaverton Police officers responded to reports of a drunk driver who hit a pole and drove off. It turned out to be a delivery driver who came to the Tigard police department lobby and was not actually intoxicated.
- A fight was reported at a store in the 9500 block of SW Washington Square Road.
- At 1:36 AM, police were called to a home in the 16500 block of SW Friendly Lane where a woman reported her husband was experiencing a mental health crisis and had armed himself with a knife. Officers were able to break down the door and safely take the man into custody and place him on a Peace Officer Hold. He was transported to the hospital for care, and thankfully, the woman and her two children were unharmed.
Monday, November 17:
- Later in the evening, officers responded to a traffic crash at SW Pacific Highway and SW Royalty Parkway. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt in the crash.
- Officers responded to a welfare check on an 84-year-old woman acting erratically outside a senior care community.
- A 17-year-old was placed on a Peace Officer Hold after they attempted to take their own life. They were taken to the hospital for care.
Sunday, November 16:
- A woman called police to report that her boyfriend’s wife won’t stop calling, texting and messaging her.
- While officers were responding to a traffic crash involving 6 vehicles on Highway 217, four more vehicles crashed behind their patrol cars. Then, three additional cars pulled over with flat tires from the crash debris on the road. To add to it, a ladder fell off a truck and caused 11 more cars to pull over after running over the ladder. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt throughout all of this.
- At 1:36 AM, officers responded to a home in the 12400 block of SW Ash Avenue where a woman had reportedly locked her husband out of the house after he was drinking. He agreed to sleep elsewhere until he sobered up.
November 9 – 15, 2025
Tigard Police responded to at least 943 calls this week, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated contacts.
Officers made 42 arrests, with several resulting in multiple charges.
Saturday, November 15:
- A robbery was called in at a grocery store in the 7500 block of SW Dartmouth Street, however officers were unable to locate the suspects due to receiving the call 40 minutes after the alleged robbery took place.
- Officers cleared a vacant home in the area of SW 95th Avenue and SW Greenburg Road after a neighbor reported seeing an open window.
Friday, November 14:
- At 9:27 PM, officers responded to a car crash on SW Pacific Highway near SW School Street where a small SUV had hit another car head on and flipped on its side after driving the wrong way. After the driver was transported to the hospital, his blood alcohol content (BAC) was at 0.327% – more than four times the legal limit. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
- A man was caught cutting security tags off merchandise at a business in the 7600 block of SW Dartmouth Street. He was detained and arrested on his warrants.
- A man was punched in the face by another driver in a road rage incident on SW Hall Boulevard.
Thursday, November 13:
- Police responded to a home in the 12300 block of SW Morning Hill Drive where a man claimed to have shot himself and then said he intended to commit by suicide by cop. Officers created a safety plan, staged in the area nearby and used a drone to check out the situation before engaging. It turned out to be a swatting call, and it’s believed the man who called in lives across the country.
- Officers were unable to locate a person who was reported to be dancing in the middle of SW Durham Road.
- A woman was choked in front of her child at an apartment complex in the 11600 block of SW 72nd Avenue.
- Police responded to an apartment complex in the 12200 block of SW Hall Boulevard where a man claimed he was armed with a gun and intended to kill himself. Officers were able to talk with him and placed him on a peace officer hold. He was taken to the hospital for care.
Wednesday, November 12:
- A woman came into the police lobby after she accidentally handcuffed herself and didn’t have a key.
- Around 10:00 AM, a teenager flagged down an officer to report he was robbed and had his phone stolen. After the officer took the report, the officer agreed to give the teen a courtesy ride home. However, while on the way home, another call came in naming the teen as the suspect in a strangulation incident that had just occurred. The teen was then arrested and referred to the juvenile department.
- At 6:38 AM, officers were called to a retirement home in the 15000 block of SW Hall Boulevard where a 75-year-old woman was experiencing a mental health crisis and wanted to end her life. Thankfully, the woman’s daughter was able to arrive and calm the woman down, and once she took her morning medicine, she was fine.
Tuesday, November 11:
- Two brothers got into an argument while drinking at a home on SW Millview Court. One brother called 9-1-1 saying he wanted to die. Officers responded and the brothers agreed to separate for the night.
- A stolen U-Haul van was recovered near SW 69th Avenue and SW Locust Street.
- Officers arrested a man for damaging construction equipment at the old cinema lot off of SW 74th Avenue near SW Pacific Highway.
Monday, November 10:
- Multiple welfare checks were called in for houseless community members across the City.
- Multiple thefts in progress were called in from businesses in the 9000 block of SW Washington Square Road.
- Police responded to a person experiencing a mental health crisis at a restaurant in the 12000 block of SW Main Street. A short time later, officers were recalled to the train tracks nearby where the person began making suicidal statements. They were placed on a peace officer hold and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Sunday, November 9:
- At 8:13 PM, officers were called to the transit center on SW Commercial Street after a 9-1-1 call came in about a person menacing others with a gun. However, when police responded, they were unable to locate the reporting party or anyone matching the description of the suspects. Officers reviewed camera footage and did not see evidence of this occurring.
- At around 7:30 PM, two teenagers were arrested for shoplifting from a store in the 9000 block of SW Washington Square Road.
- Officers were able to identify and arrest a man suspected of burglarizing a business overnight in the 12200 block of SW Main Street.
November 2 – 8, 2025
Tigard Police responded to at least 829 calls this week, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated contacts.
Officers made 32 arrests, with several resulting in multiple charges.
Saturday, November 8:
- Just before 10:00 PM, a man called to report another man had stolen his electric bike from a grocery store in the 15500 block of SW Pacific Highway.
- A three-car crash caused traffic delays on Highway 217 southbound.
- Around 3:45 PM, a theft in progress was reported at a restaurant in the 11600 block of SW Pacific Highway. Unfortunately, officers were unable to locate the suspects.
Friday, November 7:
- Officers assisted our partners at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue with a car fire near SW Pacific Highway and SW McDonald Street.
- Police responded to a disturbance with a weapon at an apartment in the 12000 block of SW 135th Avenue after a man reported being chased by a woman with a knife. After speaking with both parties and receiving inconsistent information, it was difficult to confirm if any crime had really occurred.
- A graveyard patrol officer stopped a driver who was weaving in their lane and driving well below the speed limit near SW Scholls Ferry Road and SW 130th Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) after her blood alcohol content (BAC) came back at 0.14%. As a reminder, the legal limit is 0.08%.
Thursday, November 6:
- At 1:34 PM, a mother called in a welfare check on her 17-year-old son and wanted her ex-husband arrested for poisoning her son’s mind. The father explained he has full custody of their child, and officers determined no crime occurred.
- A stolen car was recovered in the parking lot of a business in the 11500 block of SW Pacific Highway.
- A man used a bat to hit a school bus full of kids near SW Pacific Highway and SW Greenburg Road. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Wednesday, November 5:
- Police responded to multiple car crashes throughout the afternoon.
- At 12:38 PM a man threatened an employee with a knife and stole from a liquor store on SW Main Street. Then, the man continued down the street and threw a knife at a passerby. Officers responded quickly. The man refused to drop his knives, but officers were able to utilize 40mm “less lethal” foam rounds to stop the man and safely take him into custody. He was arrested and lodged at the Washington County Jail. Thankfully, no one was hurt in this incident.
Tuesday, November 4:
- Police were called to a domestic dispute between roommates at a residence in the 12400 block of SW Ash Avenue.
- Just before 6:00 PM, police responded to a potential overdose at the transit center on SW Commercial Street. The man refused medical attention but accepted a courtesy ride to a nearby homeless shelter.
- At 3:30 PM officers responded to a porta potty that had caught on fire.
Monday, November 3:
- An 11-year-old girl ran away from school in the afternoon. Thankfully, she returned home.
- A man called police for a welfare check on his ex-wife at an apartment complex in the 8900 block of SW Oak Street. Unfortunately, the woman had died.
- Officers helped wrangle a loose sheep near Art Rutkin Elementary School.
Sunday, November 2:
- Just before midnight, police responded to a suicide threat at an apartment in the 6800 block of SW Clinton Street where a woman had cut herself with a knife. Officers were able to intervene, and the woman was transported to the hospital.
- A theft in progress was called in by a business in the 7600 block of SW Dartmouth Street. The suspect was cited for Theft II.
- At 1:15 PM, a car crash near SW Pacific Highway & SW Barbur Boulevard resulted in a woman being arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII).

Week of October 5 – 11, 2025
Tigard Police responded to at least 752 calls this week, between dispatched calls for service and self-initiated contacts.
Officers made 23 arrests, with several resulting in multiple charges.
Saturday, October 11:
- Officers responded to an overdose involving an 18-year-old. Officers used Narcan and the teen was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
- An older driver hit the gas instead of the brake and hit some parked cars and a metal enclosure in a store parking lot. There were no serious injuries.
- An officer found and arrested a suspect in a hit and run from earlier in the week.
- A theft was reported at a store and responding officers learned the suspect also had a warrant out for his arrest. He was taken to jail.
Friday, October 10:
- A caller reported someone was throwing rocks at people at a fast-food restaurant and damaged a truck, then ran across 99W. Responding officers found and arrested the man, who also had several warrants out for his arrest.
- A man tried to break into a utility trailer outside a restaurant in the 11600 block of 99W, but an employee scared him off.
- A man reported his Bentley was stolen from the 9700 block of SW Pembrook Street.
- A caller reported a man kept passing out in the car while driving. He was contacted by officers and was ultimately arrested for DUII. His blood alcohol concentration was 0.18% – more than twice the legal limit.
Thursday, October 9:
- A Chevy Suburban was stolen from SW Hall & Pfaffle.
- A person in an apparent mental health crisis was making statements of self-harm, and agreed to go to the hospital for an evaluation.
- A suspicious person was reported at an apartment complex in the 12600 block of SW Hall trying to steal AirPods, who was later found by officers at the transit center. She had a felony warrant out for her arrest and was on probation with a restraining order against the reporting party. She was taken to jail.
Wednesday, October 8:
- Officers responded to a 4-car rear end crash on 99W and Greenburg Road.
- A man stole items from a convenience store and tried to leave, but was held down by others until officers arrived. He was taken to jail.
- A welfare check was conducted on a person who was making concerning statements. The Mental Health Response Team responded and the person was taken to the hospital on a Director’s Hold for a mental health evaluation.
- CPR was performed for over an hour on a man who collapsed at his job at a shopping center, but ultimately the man died. Detectives and the medical examiner responded for the death investigation, which appears natural in nature.
Tuesday, October 7:
- Officers responded to a death investigation on SW 104th where a man died of apparent natural causes.
- A bicyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he hit a car on 99W just north of Walnut. The road was closed temporarily while first responders were at the scene. Read the full news release here.
- Officers assisted at a car fire on SW Main & Burnham. The driver was hurt but should be okay.
Monday, October 6:
- A man ended his own life on his back deck on SW Walnut, causing a large police response while officers worked to assess the situation.
- A person in an apparent mental health crisis was touching himself inappropriately in front of a healthcare transport driver at an apartment complex. He was taken to jail charged with public indecency.
Sunday, October 5:
- Officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon at an apartment complex on SW 108th where an argument between a mother and son led to the mother pulling a knife. She was cited for menacing and was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
- Officers contacted a man near SW 72nd and 99W who had a felony warrant out for his arrest. He was taken to jail.
- Employees at a pharmacy store reported a man stole merchandise and ran off. Officers found him nearby and he was cited for theft II.
