ALLIANCE, Ohio (WOIO) – A woman rammed an Alliance police car and hit another after police gave her repeated commands to exit the vehicle following an alleged domestic violence incident Tuesday.

Police said a male victim came to the police station to report the alleged domestic violence incident and escape from the suspect when he was confronted again by the female suspect in a parking lot before officers arrived to intervene.

According to police, the woman suspect refused repeated commands from officers to get out of her vehicle, that’s when officers tried forcing entry into the car to remove her by force, the female suspect rammed one police cruiser and then drove into another before being taken into custody.

High Bond for Alliance Woman Accused of Ramming APD Cruisers

Kayla Ryder (Stark County jail)

ALLIANCE, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A 31-year-old Alliance woman is jailed on $100,000 bond.

She faces felonious assault and other charges for driving into two city police cruisers on Tuesday evening.

Kayla Ryder reportedly had to be restrained with the use of a Taser.

Police had been called out to the Alliance Municipal Court parking lot on East Market Street where she was blocking a man’s car with hers.

She almost struck a police officer while behind the wheel.

Police say she confirmed being under the influence.

She faces misdemeanor charges for another incident earlier this month.

Small-Town Ohio Drama As Angry Woman Rams Mazda Into Cop Car
  • An Ohio woman rammed a police cruiser while trying to avoid arrest in Alliance.
  • A third party called the police on the woman for blocking them into a parking space.
  • Facing multiple charges, she remains jailed on a $100,000 bond after the incident.

The tiny town of Alliance, Ohio is home to fewer than 30,000 people and it isn’t too often that anything there makes national news. That’s different this week though as a woman suspected of domestic violence took things from bad to worse. After officers approached her she decided to ram their vehicles and it’s all on bodycam.

Authorities haven’t released the name of the suspect but video shows police asking her to exit her vehicle during a traffic stop. It appears as though she ignores them completely as she films the encounter from inside of her Mazda SUV. At one stage early on she says “He needs to stay away from me,” but it’s unclear who she’s speaking of.

According to the CantonRep, a man had called the police as he had already filed a complaint against the woman and suspected her of domestic violence. Notably, the suspect could’ve been speaking about the male police officer confronting her at her window too. Nevertheless, she completely fails to comply or give any sort of clear reasoning as to her motives.

Instead, roughly two minutes later, she puts the car in drive, moves forward, reverses, and then goes forward momentarily before authorities box her in. That doesn’t stop her from putting it back into reverse though and hitting one of the Ford SUVs in the process. The video cuts off there and there doesn’t appear to be any additional dashcam footage.

The woman is now facing several charges including felonious assault, felony obstruction, unlawful restraint, resisting arrest, and operating a vehicle impaired. She’s in jail on a $100,000 bond and is hopefully getting whatever help she might need. It’s suspected that she was under the influence of an unknown substance at the time of the alleged crime.

ALLIANCE − A 31-year-old woman faces allegations that she struck two police cruisers on Tuesday, and also blocked another vehicle.

Here’s what went down, Alliance Police said, in a report:

Around 6 p.m., in a parking lot near the police station, officers received a 911 call from a man who filed a police complaint against the woman. He said the woman blocked his vehicle with hers, restraining him from leaving the parking lot, and standing outside his door.

See Alliance Police bodycam video of the incident here.

In their report, police said the woman saw officers and jumped back into her vehicle. The officers claimed she put her car in reverse, refusing to get out, and accelerated backward, crashing into the first cruiser. She also almost struck an officer. Then she drove forward over a cement barrier and sidewalk and struck the second cruiser, which was parked, before she stopped.

The woman remained combative and officers used a Taser − twice − to “gain compliance,” the police report said. The officers said in the report they believed the woman was under the influence of medication and narcotics, and said she confirmed it.

A resident of Alliance, the woman remains in the Stark County Jail on a $100,000 bond set by Alliance Municipal Court Judge Andrew Zumbar on Wednesday. She faces charges of felonious assault, felony obstruction, unlawful restraint, resisting arrest and operating a vehicle impaired, court records showed.
