SNELLVILLE, Georgia (WPVI) — A father in Georgia was pulled over for driving with his 3-month-old baby girl in his lap, and that wasn’t the only surprising thing police discovered.

Snellville police say, when they stopped Detavis Madison he put the baby on the floor of the car.

Madison claimed he was just about to stop and change her diaper.

Officers also found a stolen gun, marijuana, and hundreds of ecstasy pills shaped like Lego pieces in the vehicle.

The baby was not hurt.

Her mother came to pick her up.

WEST BOCA RATON, FL — A woman from West Boca Raton is facing multiple felony charges after attacking deputies who found her passed out in a hot car with a one-year-old boy lying on the backseat floorboard.

Monica Pagan, 32, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with four counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, and one count each of resisting arrest with violence, resisting arrest without violence, child neglect, and child abuse.

About 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious woman in a car with the engine off near the 5500 block of West Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

Upon arrival, they found Pagan unresponsive in the front seat.

Inside the vehicle, the boy was discovered sweating, but alert, on the floorboard of the backseat.

Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue evaluated the child and determined he was in good health.

As deputies tried to detain Pagan, she attempted to walk away with the baby.

Authorities say she refused to let go of the boy, sparking a struggle during which she allegedly kicked a deputy in the groin.

While being restrained, Pagan continued to kick at deputies and resist efforts to place her in a patrol car.

Deputies took her to the ground, and paramedics administered ketamine to calm her before transporting her on a stretcher.

On the way to the hospital, Pagan allegedly bit a deputy on the bicep, requiring treatment at West Boca Medical Center.

Pagan was later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. Her bond is set at $10,000.

Police in California have delivered a warning after rescuing a child left unattended in a hot car.

Officers with the Corona Police Department responded to a report of “a baby alone in a vehicle with the engine off and windows up” on Tuesday, June 17, according to a Facebook post shared by the department.

Upon arrival, officers found the baby “in distress” and “breached a window to extricate him,” police said.

Body camera and security footage captured during the rescue, shared by Corona Police on Facebook, showed police through the window of a blue sedan before one of the officers used a baton to smash the front driver’s side window to gain access to the vehicle.

The first officer then unlocked the car, allowing the second officer to enter the back seat and pull the baby out. The officer can then be seen patting the baby’s back.
