EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – An off-duty special deputy in Ohio shot a teenager after the portable toilet the deputy was in was tipped over, according to officials.
A press secretary for Cuyahoga County said the off-duty deputy was working a secondary security job in East Cleveland when he needed to use the portable toilet.
While inside, someone tipped over the toilet.
When the deputy got out, he reportedly encountered multiple people, one of whom he reported was pulling a gun from his waistband.
The deputy fired his weapon, and the group fled the scene in a vehicle.
Later, a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound showed up at University Hospital. Officials believe the teen was shot by the deputy.
The teen is expected to survive. The deputy was not hurt.
The deputy was identified as a Special Deputy, who is not currently employed by Cuyahoga County; however, he maintains his police commission through the Sheriff’s Department.

By Tim Ghianni NASHVILLE (Reuters) – Four Memphis police officers have been suspended with pay for tipping over a portable toilet where a suspect had tried to hide, after a video of the Sept. 19 arrest circulated widely on social media, the Commercial Appeal newspaper reported on Thursday. The video showed the officers closing in on the portable potty at a construction site where the suspect had hidden. The officers tipped the portable toilet over and then put it upright again. The police kicked the suspect and handcuffed him after he came out of the potty, the video showed. The Commercial Appeal said the man in the toilet was Joseph Hampton and that he had run away from police who had responded to a call from an apartment where he was unwanted. Hampton was arrested on trespassing and evading arrest charges and released on $250 bond, according to local media. The Memphis Police public information office did not respond to calls and e-mail requests for information on Thursday. (Editing by Fiona Ortiz)

Why Princess Eugenie and Beatrice Are Now Convinced Dad’s Royal Excommunication Was the ‘Appropriate Sanction’

As former Prince Andrew‘s Jeffrey Epstein connection unravels, his daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, are reportedly coming to terms with why his removal from royal life was inevitable.
With each new batch of Epstein files, the ex-prince’s association with the disgraced financier grows more apparent, with no end in sight.
Last October, King Charles stripped Andrew of his titles and honors amid controversies surrounding him. Now, sources close to the princesses claim they are now convinced it was the right step.
Princess Eugenie And Beatrice ‘Embarrassed’ At Parents’ Relationship With Epstein
According to insiders, the sisters have come to believe that Andrew’s effective banishment from the royal fold was justified.
One source claimed that Prince William and the King learned from confidential briefings that more damaging information about Andrew was coming, prompting them to cut ties.
“They obviously couldn’t share that,” the source told Daily Mail. “ And when they evicted Andrew and Sarah from Royal Lodge, some people thought it was too harsh. In the light of what’s now come out, it looks a more appropriate sanction.”
The source added that the princesses were particularly shaken by the newly surfaced material, including images of Andrew kneeling over a girl whose face is redacted.
“They are aghast at what they have read,” the insider revealed. “They are mortified by the emails their mother has sent to Epstein. It is so embarrassing for them.”
Princess Eugenie and Beatrice Referenced in Sarah Ferguson’s Messages To Epstein
Among the newly released documents are emails between Sarah Ferguson and Epstein in which her daughters were repeatedly mentioned.
In a March 2010 exchange, around Princess Eugenie’s birthday, which she spent with her boyfriend, now husband Jack Brooksbank, Ferguson appeared to speak of her.

Epstein seemingly suggested to Ferguson a trip to New York, and in response, Ferguson wrote, “Not sure yet. Just waiting for Eugenie to come back from a sh*****g weekend.”
In another correspondence from August 3, 2009, the former Duchess of York described Epstein as “the brother I have always wished for,” later thanking him for flattering her in front of her daughters.
A year later, one message from Ferguson revealed her pouring affection on the deceased convict, calling him a “legend” before adding, “Just marry me.”
An exchange from July 2009 showed Ferguson and Epstein arranging lunch in Miami. Ferguson confirmed she would attend with her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, then aged 20 and 19.
Princess Eugenie and Beatrice Used By Prince William To Force Their Father Out of Royal Lodge
Before the newest batch showing Andrew and Ferguson’s connection, the ripple effects of his scandal had already begun dragging his daughters into the fallout.
One such point was Prince William allegedly threatening Princess Eugenie and Beatrice’s titles to convince Andrew to move out.
As The Blast previously reported, journalist Emily Maitlis revealed that the Prince of Wales had a meeting with the girls, delivering an ultimatum.
Maitlis shared that Prince William told the girls, “You guys have to get your dad to move out of Royal Lodge; otherwise, we will start reexamining the state of your own titles.”
Other Damaging Revelations Showing Prince Andrew’s Relationship With Epstein
While his daughters were allegedly drawn into his fallout, more details from Andrew’s relationship with Epstein kept on emerging.
As The Blast reported, a trove of files revealed a message from an account signed off with the initial “A” asking Ghislaine Maxwell for inappropriate friends. The sender shared he was at “Balmoral Summer Camp for the Royal Family” and was exhausted from the activities.
In response, Maxwell wrote she had only found “appropriate friends.” Another damaging piece of information came to light, showing Andrew in the midst of several women whose faces were redacted.
How Princess Eugenie And Beatrice Stepped Back Into The Royal Fold Amid Family Turmoil
Andrew is not the only one facing consequences from the controversy surrounding his past. His ex-wife, Ferguson, has also felt the impact.
In September, Ferguson was removed as a patron of Julia’s House, with the charity citing ongoing controversies as the reason.
Despite their family turmoil, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were seen stepping back into the royal spotlight. The sisters attended Christmas Day church at Sandringham alongside senior members of the royal family, as reported by The Blast.
With their parents being left out of the gathering, sources said Beatrice’s and Eugenie’s presence sent a clear message of solidarity with the monarchy at a time when optics mattered most.

Jack Schlossberg Says Donald Trump Might ‘Demolish’ the Kennedy Center, but His Grandpa JFK Can Be ‘Kept Alive’ Another Way

NEED TO KNOW
- Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John F. Kennedy, took a stance against Donald Trump following the president’s announcement that he ordered a “complete rebuilding” of the Kennedy Center beginning on July 4
- On Feb. 1, Trump posted on Truth Social that he plans to temporarily close the Kennedy Center, which has suffered mass event cancellations in recent weeks, while he revamps the space into a “new and beautiful Landmark”
- Addressing Trump’s plans to reshape his grandfather’s memorial, Schlossberg wrote that even if the building is demolished, JFK’s legacy can be “kept alive by us now rising up to remove Donald Trump” and “restore the freedoms generations fought for”
Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John. F Kennedy, is taking another stance against President Donald Trump following the announcement that the Kennedy Center will temporarily shut down to undergo a “complete rebuilding.”
“Trump can take the Kennedy Center for himself,” Schlossberg, 33, responded in a Sunday, Feb. 1, post on X. “He can change the name, shut the doors, and demolish the building. He can try to kill JFK.”
“But JFK is kept alive by us now rising up to remove Donald Trump, bring him to justice, and restore the freedoms generations fought for,” Schlossberg added.
The post came roughly three hours after Trump, 79, announced on Truth Social that the Kennedy Center will close on July 4, 2026, for approximately two years.
Trump wrote that a group of experts, including “contractors, musical experts, art institutions, and other advisors and consultants,” conducted a one-year review of the Washington, D.C.-based performing arts center, which was established as a memorial for JFK and recently rebranded as “The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.”
“I have determined that The Trump Kennedy Center, if temporarily closed for Construction, Revitalization, and Complete Rebuilding, can be, without question, the finest Performing Arts Facility of its kind, anywhere in the World,” Trump wrote.
Trump said that the project has already received funding and the closure is set to coincide with the “250th Anniversary of our Country, whereupon we will simultaneously begin Construction of the new and spectacular Entertainment Complex.”
“This important decision, based on input from many Highly Respected Experts, will take a tired, broken, and dilapidated Center, one that has been in bad condition, both financially and structurally for many years, and turn it into a World Class Bastion of Arts, Music, and Entertainment, far better than it has ever been before,” he wrote.
“America will be very proud of its new and beautiful Landmark for many generations to come.”

The Kennedy Center was dedicated by Congress as a living memorial to JFK one year after his 1963 assassination.
After retaking office in January 2025, Trump seized control of the Kennedy Center by appointing MAGA loyalists to the venue’s board and subsequently being installed as chairman. Throughout 2025, Trump started informally referring to the center as the “Trump-Kennedy Center” in speeches and on social media.
In December 2025, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that the Trump-appointed board had bypassed Congress and voted to rename the longstanding arts center after Trump, claiming the vote was unanimous. Trump’s name was added to signage on the Kennedy Center’s exterior on Dec. 19 and the website was promptly updated with new logos.

Following the December board vote to change the name, Schlossberg — who is currently running for a U.S. House seat in Manhattan — claimed in a post on X: “Microphones were muted and the board meeting and vote NOT unanimous.”
Schlossberg’s claim aligned with comments made by Ohio Rep. Joyce Beatty, who serves as an ex-officio member of the Kennedy Center board.
After the vote, Beatty took to X in a video message to allege that she and other opponents of the vote were muted on the conference call where the vote took place and were not allowed to voice their concerns.
“For the record. This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move,” Beatty, 75, said. “Also for the record, this was not on the agenda. This was not consensus. This is censorship.”
She continued, “Clearly the Congress has a say in this. This center, the Kennedy Center, was created by the Congress. I think it’s important for us to know that this is just another attempt to evade the law and not let the people have a say.”
Days before Trump’s announcement about the Kennedy Center’s closure, first lady Melania Trump hosted the global premiere of her new, self-titled documentary in the historic performing arts space.
The Kennedy Center has struggled to line up events since Trump took over the institution, with more than a dozen artists and performers pulling out of their scheduled appearances in protest.

Melania Trump documentary shocks at the box office
Add Yahoo as a preferred source to see more of our stories on Google.
“Melania,” the controversial documentary featuring first lady Melania Trump, surprised at the box office, notching a $7 million opening weekend, according to estimates released Sunday, Feb. 1, by Amazon MGM Studios.
Directed by Brett Ratner, who has been in Hollywood exile since denying sexual harassment allegations in 2017, “Melania” had been tracking for a $3 million to $5 million opening. The movie follows the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump‘s second inauguration in 2025, from his wife’s perspective. Final box-office numbers will be announced Feb. 2.
Anything over $1 million is “a huge number,” said Jeff Bock, senior media analyst for Exhibitor Relations, in an interview with USA TODAY the week before release. “That would mean that a lot of folks who don’t normally go to the movies went to this.”
The “Melania” opening was good enough to place third in the domestic top five for the weekend. It was behind two horror-leaning debuts – survival comedy/thriller “Send Help” ($20 million) and indie scary movie “Iron Lung” ($17.9 million) – but fared better than Disney sequel “Zootopia 2 ($5.8 million), now in its ninth box-office weekend, and new Jason Statham action movie “Shelter” ($5.5 million).
Critics eviscerated the documentary – on Rotten Tomatoes, “Melania” holds a dreadful 11% positive Tomatometer score. However, the website’s audience-powered Popcornmeter sits at a 99% approval rating and the movie also received an A in CinemaScore polling.
“We’re very encouraged by the strong start and positive audience response, with early box office for ‘Melania’ exceeding our expectation,” said Kevin Wilson, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of domestic theatrical distribution, in a statement.
Melania Trump is chic in black at movie’s Kennedy Center premiere

The new “Melania” documentary had a splashy premiere at the Trump Kennedy Center in Washington on Jan. 29, 2026. See which celebrities and political figures walked the red carpet, starting with President Donald Trump first lady Melania Trump.More
“Melania” has had a glitzier rollout than most documentaries. Melania Trump hosted a private White House screening of the movie a week ago, and on Jan. 29, she appeared alongside many other guests at the film’s premiere at the Trump Kennedy Center in Washington. The VIP list included rapper Nicki Minaj; media figure Dr. Phil; and cabinet members Pete Hegseth and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Even though “Melania” bested box-office expectations, it has a ways to go before being profitable: Jeff Bezos’ Amazon MGM Studios bought the movie and a companion docuseries for $40 million and reportedly spent an additional $35 million in marketing. Both are expected to stream on Prime Video later this year, and Amazon will recoup some of its “Melania” costs through ads and streaming service sign-ups.

Trump Goes on Manic Posting Spree After GOP’s Humiliating Loss

The president self-soothed by going on a Truth Social posting spree after the Republican Party suffered a major upset in Texas.
President Donald Trump, 79, made seven posts in the span of just three minutes on Sunday afternoon and reposted six endorsements he made over the last week after a Democratic candidate secured a decisive victory in Texas’ deep-red 9th State Senate District, which he carried by more than 17 points in 2024.
First-time candidate Taylor Rehmet, 33, became the first Democrat to hold the seat in decades after handing a resounding defeat to MAGA activist Leigh Wambsganss, 57 percent to 43 percent.
Trump played nonchalant after the stunning loss in the solidly Republican district by touting the supposed success of his policies.
The president reposted opinion pieces from the Des Moines Register and Bari Weiss-founded The Free Press titled, “Iowans are earning more, paying less after Trump’s return” and “How Trump Won Davos.”
Trump also published a screenshot of a Jan. 26 X post by Roma Daravi, vice president for public relations of the newly MAGA-fied Kennedy Center, thanking him for “saving America’s cultural center.”
The president posted another screenshot, this time going all the way back to Dec. 3 last year, of an X post by Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar lavishing praise for Trump’s “tremendous leadership.” At the time, Trump had pardoned Cuellar, who was indicted on a dozen charges, including bribery, conspiracy, and money laundering.
In another Truth Social post, Trump bragged about receiving a letter dated Feb. 23, 1989, from convicted felon George M. Steinbrenner III, the principal owner and managing partner of the New York Yankees for more than three decades.
“You were great! You tell it like it is,” Steinbrenner wrote. “It is like I said to Stephen, you should run for President some day and get the whole damn thing straightened out.”
In yet another post, the president daydreamed over a rendering of his planned “Arc de Trump.”

The president also posted endorsements he had made in races in New Hampshire and Indiana.
In the case of Texas’ 9th State Senate District, however, Trump’s Truth Social endorsements didn’t carry Wambsganss to victory.
Trump endorsed Wambsganss in three posts made between early Friday morning and Saturday afternoon.
“Today is the day!” Trump wrote on Saturday. “To all Voters in Texas’ 9th State Senate District: GET OUT AND VOTE for a phenomenal Candidate, Leigh Wambsganss. She is a highly successful Entrepreneur, and an incredible supporter of our Movement to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
After Wambsganss lost, Trump pretended to be blissfully unaware of the election he had made three posts about.
“I don’t know. I didn’t hear about it,” he told reporters in Mar-a-Lago on Sunday.
“I’m not involved in that. That’s a local Texas race. You mean I won by 17 [points], and this person lost?” he said before shrugging. “Things like that happen.”
